Case study
As the popularity of similar panel facades based on grid and pattern is increasing, this script is also devoted to it. The Broad Museum in Los Angeles from the architectural office Diller Scofidio became an inspiration for this project. First, the basic ground and height dimensions of the building are parameterized. These values, ie width, depth and height are the first parameters of the script. Then a diagonal grid is created and the number of fields in both directions is parameterized. The geometry of each panel is modeled in all the arrays. Because the geometry of the panels is created directly in Dynamo, it is possible to change its shape throughout the design. Finally, the shape of the facade is finished by cutting the slanted edges and the center ellipse. Thus, a very complex script is created by which the user can change every part of the facade geometry and the overall dimension of the building itself. The facade is therefore not a separate element but forms the massing aspect of the building.
